I am so excited to share Charlotte and Patrick’s Veritas wedding with you. There are a lot of beautiful Shenandoah Valley wedding venues but none of them are quite like Veritas Vineyards and Winery in Afton, Virginia. We started the day with Charlotte getting ready at the Farmhouse at Veritas, while Patrick got ready in the other nearby house. The bridal suite at Veritas is so gorgeous because it has so much light and beautiful furniture to use as a backdrop for photos. They are also really cool spots around the venue for photos like the tasting room, the study, Saddleback hall and even the actual ceremony lawn. Charlotte and Patrick actually had their wedding during a hurricane, so the day before we did scramble a little bit to change plans last minute. We ended up taking bride and groom photos the day before the wedding so that the day of the wedding they could focus on being with their family and friends. That worked out great because we were able to get beautiful photos of the of them with hair and make up ready without the stress of trying to figure out how the weather is going to be the day of the wedding. When the wedding day came, that end up being a great decision because there were lots of gloomy clouds and the ceremony changed from being originally being outdoors into being a beautiful candlelit ceremony inside Veritas. Charlotte and Patric shared the most beautiful and private first look with one another in one of the rooms in the farmhouse before heading to their ceremony. After their ceremony, guess dispersed into cocktail hour while we focused on a few more photos of Charlie and Patric and then documenting their incredible reception decor.
What I love about weddings at Veritas is that the space will look different depending on the color palette and decor that you choose, Charlotte and Patrick opted for blue tablecloths with blooms with pink pops of color, lots of candles and gold accents and upscale tableware. The candles really brought in a romantic feel in a cozy atmosphere for their guests as well as the guest attire was black tie and formal. One of the best parts about Charlotte and Patrick’s wedding reception was actually Charlotte’s dad speech which moved the audience to laughter and tears followed by Charlotte and her dad‘s first dance that encapsulated the room. After the first dances the live band opened on the dance floor for dancing in the night went on with drinks music laughter and love.
