Magnolia’s at the Mill Wedding: Virginia and Coy

Virginia and Coy’s Magnolia’s at the Mill Wedding was such a special day of love. The day started with Virginia and her bridesmaids getting ready in an Airbnb in Purcellville, right across the street from Trinity Church. The girls got their make up and hair done before taking pictures upstairs in one of the bedrooms. After all the girls are ready we headed over to the church for Virginia and Cori’s private first wok followed by beautiful portraits. Even though we had a little bit of rain we were still able to get the best photos and the overcast ended up making for the best lighting. We had a very relaxed time on that allowed us to get all of the bridal party photos and Bride and Graham portraits done before the ceremony, and then we were able to get even more bride and groom photos after the ceremony before heading to Magnolia’s at the Mill.

Coy and Virginia met for their first date last May at a coffee shop in Alexandria, Virginia—just a few minutes away from George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate. They walked to a small park, and enjoyed coffee and conversation in what seemed like a random gazebo. If you know Coy and Virginia, you won’t be surprised that they talked about crypto and Zimbabwe. In short, it seemed like a smashing success! However, Coy had to cut it off after an hour and a half to volunteer at church, and Virginia wondered if he was making up an excuse to leave…especially after he mentioned that he would “be out of town for a few weeks.” Any such doubts were quickly erased as Coy proved to be an excellent date-planner and Virginia was quickly swept off her feet. They fell in love while enjoying an Italian dinner in Dupont Circle, strolling around DC’s Tidal Basin, exploring Mount Vernon (during the great Cicada emerging of 2021), and visiting nearby Hunt Country. Most importantly, they fell in love through sharing their faith.

Their ceremony at Trinity Church was very intimate and candle lit, which made for the most romantic of settings. Magnolia’s at the Mill has a great upstairs reception area, which Virginia and Coy’s wedding planner, John, totally transformed into a colorful candlelit evening dinner. Their reception was filled with the most heartfelt of speeches from family and friends. The night ended with Virginia and Coy actually doing a bubble exit outside the front of Magnolia’s and it made for the best goodbye.
